About Erica Kirk, MA

I am currently in my first year of clinical practice with Dr. Melissa Jinariu. I have experience providing care to children and adolescents, working closely and collaboratively with their families to support them through trauma, anxiety, ADHD, grief,  and other psychological stressors. I approach treatment from a trauma-informed and interpersonal lens, hoping to increase connections and community for my clients to assist in their overall psychological well-being.

Education & Training
I am currently attending Azusa Pacific University to earn my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD). I received my Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University in May 2024. Through my clinical training, I have had the privilege to work with underserved communities in a school-based setting, working predominantly with adolescents. My research is focused on cultivating intellectual humility and positive psychology to increase connection, empathy, and psychological healing. I received my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology at Azusa Pacific University in 2022.
I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Gottman’s Level One Marriage Counseling. I am passionate about incorporating and tailoring relevant interventions from evidence-based modalities to fit my client's individual needs.

Outside of my clinical work, I work as a legal assistant for a Family Law office in Pasadena. I see firsthand the effects of divorce and family court on family systems and have a passion for contributing to healthy co-parenting and connection between blended families.
