About Rebecca Chiang, MA

It is a great pleasure to be working alongside Dr. Jinariu and her team. My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and emerging adults within a school and community- based setting. Today, I work primarily with children/adolescents diagnosed with chronic illness (pediatric hematology/oncology population), assisting with neuropsychological evaluations, and clients’ rehabilitation journey. I also have experience with neuropsychological/psychological evaluation as an assessment clerk administering, scoring, and interpreting data acquired within a group private practice setting. I approach treatment from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach with an emphasis in family systems and having a bio-psychosocial approach to triage and treatment of individual and families. Specifically for neuropsychological/psychological assessment, I approach testing from a Hypothesis Testing Approach (HTA), taking into consideration the Cattell-Horn-Carroll Theory (CHC) when examining the structure of human cognitive abilities.

Subsequently, I began my academic career within clinical psychology with the MFT Program and PsyD Program at Azusa Pacific University. I later earned my Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology in May of 2022. Within the field of psychology, my interests include examining the impact of trauma and medical diagnosis have on an individual’s level of functioning, psychosocial, and emotional development.
