About Morgan Regalado Hustead, MA
I am currently in my fifth year of doctoral training in the Combined Counseling/School Psychology Ph.D. program at Northern Arizona University and am completing my practicum under the supervision of Dr. Melissa Jinariu at Therapy SoCal. I bring over a decade of clinical experience across outpatient, community, school-based, primary care, and VA healthcare settings. I have provided therapeutic services to individuals across the lifespan—including children, adolescents, veterans, older adults, and families—navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, chronic illness, and neurodevelopmental concerns.
As a clinician, I approach therapy through a trauma-informed, integrative lens, grounded in evidence-based practices and rooted in the belief that healing occurs within safe, authentic relationships. I am especially passionate about supporting clients impacted by trauma, life transitions, complex grief, chronic stress, and identity-related challenges, with the goal of fostering the restoration of hope, meaning, and resilience.
Education & Training
I am currently completing my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Combined
Counseling/School Psychology at Northern Arizona University. I hold a Master of Arts in
Clinical Mental Health Counseling from NAU and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from
Arizona State University. My clinical training includes work in VA medical centers,
integrated behavioral health, schools, and outpatient clinics.
I am trained in a range of empirically supported treatment modalities, including
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), Acceptance and
Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged
Exposure (PE), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), the Unified Protocol for
Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT),
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Gottman Method Level 1.
I am also trained in HeartMath biofeedback interventions and have co-facilitated
trauma recovery and chronic pain groups using somatic and resilience-based
approaches. In addition to psychotherapy, I have extensive experience conducting
neuropsychological assessments with older adults and psychoeducational evaluations
with children. My research and publications center on trauma, chronic pain, and
caregiving for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Outside of my clinical work, I am a mother to two young children. Parenthood has been
one of the most transformative experiences of my life, enriching my empathy, expanding
my perspective, and deepening my commitment to walking alongside individuals and
families through life’s most vulnerable and meaningful moments. I also welcome the
integration of faith and spirituality into therapy when it aligns with a client’s values.
