About Erica Kirk, MA
I am currently in my third year of clinical training and have experience providing care to children, adolescents, and adults, working closely and collaboratively with their families to support them through trauma, anxiety, ADHD, grief, and other psychological stressors. I approach treatment from a trauma-informed and interpersonal lens, hoping to increase connections and community for my clients to assist in their overall psychological well-being.
Education & Training
I am currently attending Azusa Pacific University to earn my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD). I received my Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University in May 2024. Through my clinical training, I have had the privilege to work with underserved communities in a school-based setting, working predominantly with adolescents. My research is focused on cultivating intellectual humility and positive psychology to increase connection, empathy, and psychological healing. I received my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology at Azusa Pacific University in 2022.
I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Gottman’s Level One Marriage Counseling. I am passionate about incorporating and tailoring relevant interventions from evidence-based modalities to fit my client's individual needs.
Outside of my clinical work, I work as a legal assistant for a Family Law office in Pasadena. I see firsthand the effects of divorce and family court on family systems and have a passion for contributing to healthy co-parenting and connection between blended families.
