About Michelle Casas, MA, AMFT
I am a registered associate marriage and family therapist working under the supervision and license of Melissa Jinariu, Psy.D., at Therapy SoCal. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to establish real changes in the lives of my clients. During our time together we will collaborate and utilize interventions and treatment that will best support clients’ specific needs. I have experience in providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families coping with trauma, in both Spanish and English. I approach treatment through trauma informed care and a psychodynamic lens.
Education & Training
I received my Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University in 2023. During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to provide short-term counseling for children to address their emotional and behavioral needs. I received clinical training in community mental health and school-based settings. I have experience working with PTSD, grief & loss, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I primarily work with children, adolescents, and adults utilizing evidence based practices such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Gottman Method Levels 1 and 2.
