Meet Maribel

I am currently in my second year of clinical training and have experience working with children and adolescents in school based settings, providing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, and working with adults in community counseling settings. I work collaboratively with clients and families to support their needs and navigate different psychological stressors including trauma, ADHD, anxiety, grief, and behavioral concerns. I approach treatment from a trauma informed and cognitive behavioral perspective approach, emphasizing empathy, safety, and collaboration to support each client’s overall
well-being.

Education & Training

I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and will earn my Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University in May 2026. I have earned my Bachelor’s of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from Fresno Pacific University in May 2023. Through my clinical experience, I have worked with individuals on the autism spectrum in home-based settings providing behavioral and family-based support. I have also worked with children and adolescents in school-based settings
focusing on individual and familial needs. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Seeking Safety, and Child Abuse Assessment and
Reporting. I also have experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) settings,
where I implemented behavioral interventions and supported skill development under supervision. I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment that allows clients to feel understood and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.
